Well-being Curriculum

What Springfield believes.

At Springfield Primary School, we place huge value on the support and development of our pupil's wellbeing. We know that happy children make the best learners, and we know that children who feel secure, valued and supported reflect this in their attitudes to learning.

In our ambition to develop an inclusive school, where every child is valued and supported as an individual, we have outlined our aims:

Aim High - To learn the importance of emotional wellbeing, developing and valuing their own identity and building confident and aspirational individuals.

Achieve Excellence - To grow in a stimulating and nurturing environment that encourages them to take risks and challenge themselves, building confidence and resilience and providing a firm foundation for academic achievement.

Together - To form positive relationships which support them through success and challenges, building skills that will support them through education and beyond.

We strive to ensure that each child has opportunities to recognise, explore and develop their strengths and talents, and understand that some children may need extra support to help them navigate the challenges and changes of everyday life. We seek to build close relationships with parents and the wider school community to give every child the best possible chance to thrive.

Pupil wellbeing is embedded throughout the fabric of the school, and we are pleased to offer a tiered support offering which is tailored to the needs of the individual child. (see attached slide)

To further support the children during the lockdown period, a dedicated well-being classroom has been set up with activities and information for the children to access.
