Trips and Extra-Curricular Activities

On Friday 6th March, Reception children went to Brooklands Transport Museum. This is closely linked to the topic ‘Are we there yet?’ In class we were great at listing the many different transport that we knew before we went on our trip. We were super excited to see a range of old and new vehicles throughout our time at the museum. We got a coach that picked us up from school and took us straight there. We were in awe when walking around the museum looking carefully at the many things we could see such as taxis, cars, bicycles, penny-farthings, planes and buses, including double deckers. We even got to go on a bus and sit upstairs with our paper tickets! We also made a paper cup car and could talk about the materials used to build a real life one such as metal for the bodywork, rubber for the wheels and why racing cars are flat and streamlined to make them go faster. We had the best day and didn’t want it to end - hence why we were a little late arriving back to school!

Here are some comments made:

Wow this is the best trip I have ever done.
My favourite part was everything.’
Paddington Bear liked the day and he sat on an ambulance and a fire truck.
